Selection considerations

Material condition

Provide the rubber type, vulcanization state, thickness, hardness and surface tack. The conformance chart distinguishes material conditions; the word rubber alone is not enough.

Feed method

Review NZ for individual sheets, P Series for continuous rolls and AC for shearing. Coarse cutting of unvulcanized tire rubber is an application to discuss for a custom RT machine.

Trial acceptance

Specify cut length, half-cut requirements, acceptable edges and production cycle, and provide representative samples.

Common questions

Can vulcanized and unvulcanized rubber use the same configuration?

A material name alone cannot determine the configuration. The catalog lists rubber types separately and marks some combinations as conditional. Tack, thickness and target dimensions need a sample trial.

Should speed or cut quality be established first?

Define acceptable dimensions, edges and sticking first, then assess the cycle time that achieves those conditions on actual samples. Catalog maximum speed is not a production-speed guarantee for all rubber.
